America II has also been instrumental in <strong>the</strong> creation of New York Classic<br />
Week. This is an annual event when classic yachts come <strong>to</strong> New York<br />
Harbor for 3 days of racing. America II serves as our city’s ambassador <strong>to</strong><br />
invite <strong>the</strong> visiting yachts.<br />
Having grown up as a Battery<br />
Park City resident, having<br />
worked as a sailing instruc<strong>to</strong>r of<br />
<strong>the</strong> sailing school, and as a<br />
current member of <strong>the</strong> sailing<br />
club, I have a unique<br />
perspective and appreciation for<br />
<strong>the</strong> job you've done. In years<br />
past, <strong>the</strong> marina was an empty<br />
canvas, but <strong>to</strong>day it has become<br />
a beautiful portrait of what<br />
makes New York great.<br />
