business communities. North
Cove Marina is such a special
and wonderful place and I know
it will continue to be so under
his leadership.

When the Cup races were run in Australia in 1987, Dennis Conner went
down and won the Cup back for the United States. It was one of the
biggest moments for sailing in our country’s history. Dennis was
featured on the covers of Time and Sports Illustrated. He became a
national hero and the most recognized name in boating in the country.
When North Cove Marina Management was put in charge of North Cove
in 2005, Dennis Conner was part of the team. Dennis actually lived in
Battery Park City from 1990 to 1994 and was eager to help the rebuilding
efforts after 9/11. By lending his name and star power to the marina,
North Cove became an immediate sensation and was featured in boating
press around the country and abroad. Once Dennis got involved, it was
only a matter of time before North Cove got a historic 12 Meter.
