Whenever I take my 3-year-old
daughter to North Cove, I can
already see the twinkling in her
eyes when sailboats come in
and out of the marina. I am so
much looking forward to the
day that she’ll be enrolling in
her first sailing activity at the
Manhattan Sailing School and
become part of yet another
generation of sailing and water
enthusiasts at North Cove.
Movies & TV Shows
North Cove Marina Management has had an unprecedented string of
successes in landing movie and television shoots at the marina. One of
the reasons for this record run is that Commodore Fortenbaugh is
personally involved. He speaks directly with location scouts and asks
“What can we do to win your business” Working in conjunction with
Nidia Reeder at BPCA for the past 4 years, they have won more film
shoots for the community than ever before.
During the first filming events in 2006, the Commodore was careful
about how the marina and community would be portrayed. He also
made sure the productions would not impact the local residents in a
negative way. But he soon learned the local community loved these
productions taking place in BPC. They got to see movie stars on the
esplanade and their community on television or the big screen!
