Committee to actively pursue plans which will accomplish this purpose.
Policy Reminders
1. Only money actually received for RPMetM will be distributed to the
agencies. Any shortfall will reduce all the agencies grants in proportion to their
respective grants for that year.
2. Boards are not allowed to deficit spend.
3. Normal committee expenses are automatically paid from the Synod
Operations Fund. Recommendations in committee reports regarding regular
expenses are not needed.
Recommendations
I. That since the terms of Hector Pino and Andy Curran expire at this meeting
of Synod, the following persons be nominated for the Committee on Finance for
the class of 2000: Jack Morton, Kay Klein and Everett Wood.
2. That the Financial Statements for the Year ended December 31, 1995, and
the Independent Auditor's Report as prepared by Dale R. Hartzel, CPA, be
accepted as distributed and printed in the Minutes of Synod.
3. That the Financial Statements for the Year ended December 31, 1996, and
the Independent Auditor's Report as prepared by Dale R. Hartzel, CPA, be
accepted as distributed and printed in the Minutes of Synod.
4. That the financial reports of the Unallocated Denominational Office
Expense be received and that the 1998 budget be adopted. (See page 170-171 of
the 1997 Financial Reports of Synod's Boards and Committees.)
5. That Synod set the congregational assessment for Synod's Travel Fund for
1998 at $8.00 per communicant member based on communicant membership as
of December 31, 1997, as reported to the Stated Clerk.
6. That Synod set the congregational assessment for the Pension Fund Current
Account for 1998 at $16.00 per communicant member based on communicant
membership as of December 31, 1997, as reported to the Stated Clerk.
7. That Synod set the minimum contribution for the employer of each
participant in Pension Plan B at $2,200 for 1998.
8. That $50,000 from the 1998 income of the MacLaughlin Trust
(Unrestricted Undesignated Funds) be granted to the Pension Trustees for Pension
Plan A in 1998.
9. That $50,000 from the 1998 income of the MacLaughlin Trust
(Unrestricted Undesignated Funds) be granted to Geneva College in 1998.
10. That future requests and distributions for the Disability Board be included
with the requests from the Women's Association.
11. That Synod approve distribution of up to $325,000 from RPMetM in
1998 (all of which must come from contributed funds) and $250,000 from
Unrestriaed Undesignated Funds in 1997 as follows:
