ENROLLMENT AND STUDENT SERVICES
Dr. Katip has announced that he will be leaving to become Vice President for
Enrollment Management at Robert Morris College. We thankBill for his service to
the College and wish him God's blessing as he pursues God's call. The
Administration has decided not to replace Dr. Katip immediately, but will use this
time to consider the appropriate structure for the Enrollment Services area. Please
pray for the College during this period of transition.
Enrollment for the 1996-1997 year was as follows:

Importantly, the College achieved an 80% retention rate from freshmen to
sophomores this year.
Trustee Scholarships were awarded this year to the following students: Sarah
Brewer, Nicole Anna Edgar, Laura Herrmann, Lorrie Musser, Jennifer Olsson,
Luke O'Neill, and Adam Trotta.
Charges to resident students for the 1997-1998 academic year have been set at
$5,625 per semester for tuition and $375 per credit hour. Room charges will be
$1,150 per semester and Board $1,225. In addition, a technology fee of $100
will be assessed to defray the cost of providing expanded access.
The 1997 Commencement services were held on Saturday, May 10, 1997, at
10:00 a.m. in Metheny Field House. The commencement address was given by
Dr. Larry Woiwode, a freelance writer from Mott, ND. He is a frequent
contributor to The New Yorker magazine, as well as many Christian magazines, and
he is the author of several major novels written from a Christian perspective.
Baccalaureate services were held on Friday evening, May 9, with Rev. Timothy
Russell, Chaplain at Geneva College giving the address. 490 candidates were
awarded degrees.
Of these 150 were from the Degree Completion Program and 66 from CUTS,
awarded at a separate ceremony in Philadelphia. 440 received bachelor's degrees,
10 received associate degrees, 23 received the MA in Professional Psychology, and
17 received the MA in Higher Education. In addition Dr. Woiwode was awarded
an honorary Doctor of Literature degree.
