Hebron: In November, the congregation celebrated 125 years of ministry in the
Clay County, KS community. They are thankful that God does use us in His
service, in ministering to the community as they seek to be faithful in witness for
Jesus Christ. In February 1997, Rev. Bruce Martin accepted the call to the
pastorate in Rigdefield Park.
Midland Mission Church: Two areas of outreach have been door-to-door
distribution of literature and a radio spot. They continue to look for a better place
to worship.
Minneola: There have been a number of good activities over the last year.
Three different missionaries spoke - Richard Ramsay, missionary from Chile; Matt
Filbert, mission trip to Russia; and Shirley Wright, missionary from Japan. The
congregation also hosted Presbyterial in April.
Quinter: The congregation continues to be instructed and challenged by the
faithful preaching and teaching of God's Word by Pastor Steven Work. They
hosted the men's retreat this spring and will host the meeting of Presbytery this
fall.
Sharon: On the observance of their sesquicentennial, speakers included Duncan
Lowe, Dr. John Edgar and Rev. Richard Hutcheson. A daughter of the
congregation, Mrs. Robert (Louise Edgar) Copeland led the praise in worship.
Shawnee: The congregation continues to be very active in equipping the
Presbytery. They had Andrew Stringer as a summer Intern. The Outreach
Committee invited Barry York to come for series on outreach titled "Biblical
Compassion." In September, Dr. Robert Godfrey from Westminster West came
for another Reformed Conference. He spoke on the subject of our "Spiritual
Environment."
Springs Reformed Church: The Lord continues to bless and use this
congregation. They note God's sending them out into the work of the kingdom
and rejoice at His adding to their congregation. They pray for much increase in
their contact with the lost, and an earnest desire to expose them to the everlasting
gospel.
Sterling: In their report to Presbytery, the Session thanked the Lord for 7
covenant children who became communicant members, 6 others who joined the
church as communicants, and 8 children added to the baptized roll. During the
month of May 1996 the elders visited almost every family in their homes. One
question that was asked each member was whether or not the Sterling church had a
future. The majority said, "Yes," if we are obedient to God's word. Other
positive things mentioned were the college students, the number of families living
in surrounding communities, the fellowship at the dinners the first Lord's Day of
each month and the outreach to the children of the community whose parents do
not attend.
Stillwater: As Alan Noell reported at the annual congregational meeting, "Our
faithful Lord has continued to be gracious to our congregation during the past
