APPLICATION DESCRIPTION:<br />
A clothing manufacturer needed to maintain constant levels of dye in a tray dispenser<br />
that they used to continuously supply dye. They had a method of<br />
detecting the levels of die in a tray <strong>and</strong> were looking for a method to traverse<br />
back <strong>and</strong> forth across the tray to both detect levels <strong>and</strong> dispense dye.<br />
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:<br />
• Single axis system<br />
• Very slow speed (less than 1-inch per second<br />
• Watch for level low detector <strong>and</strong> evaluate which of three dye dispensers to<br />
turn on based on location.<br />
TOL-O-MATIC SOLUTION:<br />
This application was solved with the simplest system to set up <strong>and</strong> use, along<br />
with the lowest cost controller/drive product offered by <strong>Tol</strong>-O-<strong>Matic</strong>. The MSS<br />
microstepping system combines the basic single axis controller with a<br />
microstepping drive in one package. This controller is capable of being easily<br />
programmed to accept the level sensing input <strong>and</strong> turn on one of three outputs<br />
based on its position. The drive is capable of driving any of <strong>Tol</strong>-O-<strong>Matic</strong>’s MRS<br />
stepper motors.<br />
