motor rotary motion to linear<br />

• A motor to initiate motion.<br />

• A drive to respond to signals from<br />

the controller <strong>and</strong> deliver power to<br />

move the motor.<br />

• A controller to store <strong>and</strong>/or interpret<br />

high level comm<strong>and</strong>s received<br />

from a computer or operator interface,<br />

<strong>and</strong> to generate the necessary<br />

signals to control motor velocity,<br />

acceleration, position, <strong>and</strong> direction<br />

based on program <strong>and</strong> discrete<br />

inputs.<br />

• An operator interface to allow system<br />

operators to program or signal<br />

the controller remotely.<br />

This modular approach provides flexibility<br />
