Variants of the ARPEX coupling, ARW-4/-6 series<br />

Variant with unmachined intermediate spacer, with<br />

variable spacer length<br />

Dimension sheets and further information are available on request.<br />

The coupling parts of the ARPEX ARW-4/-6 series with the<br />

exception of H spacers are machined on all sides. These are<br />

delivered with unmachined, primed spacer tube.<br />

The radial misalignment ∆K r applies to a type NHN coupling with<br />

a shaft distance S = 1000 mm. The radial misalignment ∆K r for<br />

other shaft distances S is calculated as follows:<br />

∆K r =(S–S1)⋅ tan(∆K w )<br />

The permitted shaft misalignments ∆K a , ∆K r and ∆K w are maximum<br />

values and must not occur at the same time (see following table).<br />

Because of design specifications, the maximum possible axial<br />

shaft misalignment with plate packs pulled apart (tension +) is<br />

greater than with plate packs pressed together (compression –).<br />

Maximum permitted shaft misalignment<br />

The torsional stiffness values apply to the entire coupling with<br />

shaft distance S = 1000 mm. The torsional stiffness of the plate<br />

packs applies to the rated coupling torque T KN . To determine the<br />

torsional stiffness for a specific operating point, e.g. for calculating<br />

torsional vibration, the manufacturer must be consulted.<br />
