iv. After <strong>the</strong> Thanksgiving Prayer, <strong>the</strong> priest proceeds<br />
<strong>to</strong>wards <strong>the</strong> vessel prepared for placing <strong>the</strong> incense for<br />
Diptych of <strong>the</strong> departed, and places some of this incense in it<br />
saying, "Glory and honour, honour and glory <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Holy</strong><br />
Trinity, <strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r, <strong>the</strong> Son and <strong>the</strong> <strong>Holy</strong> Spirit, repose<br />
and comfort for Your servants who have departed in <strong>the</strong><br />
Orthodox faith since <strong>the</strong> beginning. Graciously O Lord<br />
repose all <strong>the</strong>ir souls in <strong>the</strong> embrace of our holy fa<strong>the</strong>rs<br />
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in <strong>the</strong> paradise of joy, in <strong>the</strong><br />
heavenly Jerusalem. And give <strong>the</strong>m, with us, a share and<br />
inheritance with all Your saints."<br />
v. This procedure is repeated again after <strong>the</strong> Prayer of<br />
Thanksgiving in <strong>the</strong> second Prostration, so <strong>the</strong> priest places<br />
<strong>the</strong> rest of <strong>the</strong> incense beads which were counted according<br />
<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> souls of <strong>the</strong> departed while saying <strong>the</strong> above prayer.<br />
vi. About distributing incense beads <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> congregation so<br />
each may take a few beads in remembrance of <strong>the</strong> departed<br />
whom <strong>the</strong>y would like <strong>to</strong> mention, <strong>the</strong> book of Laqan<br />
mentions, "Everyone gives incense for <strong>the</strong>ir departed."<br />
Those O Lord...<br />
Whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> priest prays <strong>the</strong> Diptych audibly or not, he must<br />
pray <strong>the</strong> Diptych of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Liturgy</strong> of St. Basil as follows:<br />
" Those O Lord whose souls You have taken, repose <strong>the</strong>m<br />
in <strong>the</strong> paradise of joy, in <strong>the</strong> land of eternal living, in <strong>the</strong><br />
heavenly Jerusalem. And we also, <strong>the</strong> foreigners in this<br />
place, preserve us in Your faith and grant us Your peace<br />
until <strong>the</strong> end."<br />
