earing witness that what you have received is indeed <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Holy</strong> Body of <strong>the</strong> Lord Jesus.<br />

After you receive <strong>the</strong> <strong>Holy</strong> Body cover your mouth with <strong>the</strong><br />

corporal, as if <strong>to</strong> cover this precious jewel, until you have<br />

consumed <strong>the</strong> jewel.<br />

When your turn comes <strong>to</strong> receive <strong>the</strong> Honoured blood,<br />

proceed <strong>to</strong>wards <strong>the</strong> chalice carefully so <strong>the</strong> priest may give<br />

you <strong>the</strong> Sacred Blood, and feel and believe that you are<br />

approaching <strong>the</strong> blood <strong>from</strong> <strong>the</strong> divine side of Jesus Christ<br />

who was crucified, and drink of <strong>the</strong> Blood <strong>from</strong> <strong>the</strong> side of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Lord when He was wounded by a spear. When <strong>the</strong> priest<br />

says, "The Blood of Emmanuel, Our God, this is true,<br />

Amen," respond saying, "Amen," but do not place <strong>the</strong><br />

corporal over your mouth after you receive <strong>the</strong> Blood.<br />

You must <strong>the</strong>n drink some water so that none of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Holy</strong><br />

Communion remains in your mouth.<br />

Then stand in a quiet place, offering prayers of thanksgiving<br />

('Prayer after <strong>Holy</strong> Communion') <strong>to</strong> God who allowed you <strong>to</strong><br />

receive His <strong>Holy</strong> Body and Blood, and gave you this spiritual<br />

gift. These are some prayers of thanks for you <strong>to</strong> pray<br />

quietly:<br />

"Our mouth is filled with gladness and our <strong>to</strong>ngue with joy<br />

upon <strong>the</strong> partaking of Your Immortal Mysteries O Lord. For<br />

that which no eye has seen, nor ear heard nor entered in<strong>to</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> heart of man, that which God has prepared for those<br />

who love His <strong>Holy</strong> name, You have revealed <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> young<br />

children of Your <strong>Holy</strong> Church. Indeed O Fa<strong>the</strong>r, this is <strong>the</strong><br />

pleasure placed before You for You are compassionate and<br />
