Then <strong>the</strong> priest remembers his children who asked him <strong>to</strong><br />
pray for <strong>the</strong>m. Not only would he have written <strong>the</strong>ir names<br />
down, but would have also remembered <strong>the</strong>m in his heart and<br />
mentions <strong>the</strong>m before <strong>the</strong> Sacrifice, who carries sins,<br />
problems and <strong>the</strong> worries of <strong>the</strong> world. He prays that God<br />
may give remedy for <strong>the</strong> sick and repose for <strong>the</strong> departed, joy<br />
for <strong>the</strong> oppressed, success for students, and peace for <strong>the</strong><br />
troubled.<br />
Finally, in meekness and humility, he mentions himself:<br />
"Remember also, O Lord, my weakness, and forgive me<br />
my numerous sins, and where sin abounds, may Your<br />
grace <strong>the</strong>re be highly abundant. Do not deprive Your<br />
people of <strong>the</strong> grace of Your <strong>Holy</strong> Spirit for <strong>the</strong> sake of my<br />
own personal sins and <strong>the</strong> abominations of my heart, but<br />
ra<strong>the</strong>r absolve <strong>the</strong>m all."<br />
Then <strong>the</strong> priest says <strong>the</strong> introduction of <strong>the</strong> Litanies of Peace<br />
and Fa<strong>the</strong>rs, inaudibly, <strong>the</strong>n says <strong>the</strong> introduction of <strong>the</strong><br />
Litany of Ga<strong>the</strong>rings as follows: "Remember, O Lord, our<br />
ga<strong>the</strong>rings <strong>to</strong> bless <strong>the</strong>m."<br />
The deacon raises <strong>the</strong> Cross, responding <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> priest, ""You<br />
are saved. Amen. And with your spirit."<br />
This response is divided in<strong>to</strong> two parts, <strong>the</strong> first is for <strong>the</strong><br />
priest: "You are saved. Amen. And with your spirit." The<br />
second is for <strong>the</strong> congregation: "Let us attend in fear of<br />
God."<br />
