On Sundays and feast days, we replace <strong>the</strong> litany for<br />

travellers with <strong>the</strong> litany for <strong>the</strong> oblations, as <strong>the</strong> church<br />

assumes that during <strong>the</strong>se days, all of its children attend <strong>the</strong><br />

church for prayer and celebration bringing <strong>the</strong>ir oblations and<br />

offerings. The church lifts up <strong>the</strong>se oblations, offerings and<br />

prayers <strong>to</strong> God so that He may accept <strong>the</strong>m and reward each<br />

person with <strong>the</strong> heavenly instead of <strong>the</strong> earthly, and <strong>the</strong><br />

eternal instead of <strong>the</strong> temporal.<br />

While reciting <strong>the</strong> prayer for <strong>the</strong> oblations, we plead with <strong>the</strong><br />

Lord <strong>to</strong> accept all our offerings, whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>y be money,<br />

time, effort, love, or anything we may sacrifice for <strong>the</strong> sake<br />

of God, "hidden or manifest, those in abundance and<br />

those in scarcity, <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> needy bro<strong>the</strong>rs of Christ. May God<br />

accept <strong>the</strong>ir offerings and bes<strong>to</strong>w on <strong>the</strong>m <strong>the</strong> grace of<br />

happy life in this age, and eternal life in His Kingdom.”<br />

Then <strong>the</strong> morning incense prayer follows in <strong>the</strong> manner of <strong>the</strong><br />

evening incense in <strong>the</strong> prayer of EVNOT-NAI-NAN (God<br />

have mercy upon us). This is followed by <strong>the</strong> litany of <strong>the</strong><br />

Gospel, <strong>the</strong> five short litanies, <strong>the</strong> absolution and finally, <strong>the</strong><br />

blessing.<br />

My beloved, attend <strong>the</strong> prayers of <strong>the</strong> Matins with reverence,<br />

following every prayer and litany with your <strong>Liturgy</strong> book, as<br />

you did during <strong>the</strong> Vespers.<br />

May God open our minds and our hearts <strong>to</strong> contemplate on<br />

what <strong>the</strong> Spirit says <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> churches.<br />
