Cleaning and care
If the "Empty waste unit" message appears in
the display window after you have just cleaned
the unit out you will need to take it out of the
machine and push it back into position again and
then press the ENTER button. Otherwise the
machine will get blocked. This is a safety feature
to prevent the waste unit from overflowing. The
machine counts the number of times coffee
grounds are emptied into the waste unit. It
automatically prompts you to empty it after a
certain number of times.
Brew unit
As soon as the waste unit has been cleaned, the
brew unit must be cleaned as well.
The brew unit can only be removed when the
waste unit has been taken out.
Do not use force. If the waste container can only
be removed with difficulty, it is not positioned
correctly, (see "Problem solving guide").
The brew unit must be cleaned by hand
because the moving parts are lubricated and the
rubber seals could become brittle in a
dishwasher.
Lubricate the parts of the brew unit with the
silicone lubricant supplied when there is no more
grease on the joints, to keep the machine
working smoothly (see "Lubricating the brew
unit").
