Improper use of the mach<strong>in</strong>e can,<br />
however, present a risk of both<br />
personal <strong>in</strong>jury and material<br />
damage.<br />
To avoid the risk of accidents and<br />
damage to the mach<strong>in</strong>e, please read<br />
these <strong><strong>in</strong>structions</strong> carefully before<br />
<strong>in</strong>stallation and before us<strong>in</strong>g for the<br />
first time. They conta<strong>in</strong> important<br />
notes on the <strong>in</strong>stallation, safety,<br />
operation and care of the mach<strong>in</strong>e.<br />
Keep these operat<strong>in</strong>g <strong><strong>in</strong>structions</strong> <strong>in</strong><br />
a safe place and pass them on to<br />
any future owner.<br />
Correct usage<br />
The mach<strong>in</strong>e is <strong>in</strong>tended for<br />
domestic use only for the<br />
preparation of espresso, cappucc<strong>in</strong>o,<br />
<strong>coffee</strong> and hot water for tea and similar<br />
dr<strong>in</strong>ks. Any other usage is not<br />
supported by the manufacturer and<br />
could be dangerous. The manufacturer<br />
cannot be held liable for damage<br />
result<strong>in</strong>g from improper use or<br />
operation.<br />
Technical safety<br />
Before connect<strong>in</strong>g the mach<strong>in</strong>e to<br />
the ma<strong>in</strong>s supply, make sure the<br />
rat<strong>in</strong>g on the data plate corresponds to<br />
the voltage and frequency of the<br />
household supply. Consult a qualified<br />
electrician if <strong>in</strong> any doubt.<br />
The electrical safety of this<br />
mach<strong>in</strong>e can only be guaranteed<br />
when cont<strong>in</strong>uity is complete between it<br />
and an effective earth<strong>in</strong>g system which<br />
complies with local and national safety<br />
regulations. It is most important that this<br />
basic safety requirement is present and<br />
tested regularly and where there is any<br />
doubt, the household wir<strong>in</strong>g system<br />
should be <strong>in</strong>spected by a qualified<br />
electrician.<br />
The manufacturer cannot be held liable<br />
for the consequences of an <strong>in</strong>adequate<br />
earth<strong>in</strong>g system (e.g. electric shock).<br />
The mach<strong>in</strong>e must be built <strong>in</strong><br />
before operation to ensure that no<br />
electrical components are accessible.<br />
Ensure power is not supplied to the<br />
mach<strong>in</strong>e until after <strong>in</strong>stallation, repair<br />
work or ma<strong>in</strong>tenance work has been<br />
carried out.<br />
Do not connect the mach<strong>in</strong>e to the<br />
ma<strong>in</strong>s electricity supply by an<br />
extension lead.<br />
Extension leads do not guarantee the<br />
required safety of the mach<strong>in</strong>e (e.g.<br />
danger of overheat<strong>in</strong>g).<br />
When <strong>in</strong>stalled <strong>in</strong> the mobile unit<br />
(optional extra) the mach<strong>in</strong>e is not<br />
suitable for use <strong>in</strong> the open air.<br />
