Problem solv<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Repairs to electrical mach<strong>in</strong>es should only be<br />
carried out by a suitably qualified and competent<br />
person <strong>in</strong> accordance with local and national<br />
safety regulations. Repairs and other work by<br />
unqualified persons could be dangerous. The<br />
manufacturer cannot be held liable for<br />
unauthorised work.<br />
Various messages will appear <strong>in</strong> the display to warn<br />
of certa<strong>in</strong> problems. The section “Display<br />
messages” expla<strong>in</strong>s how to respond to these.<br />
The follow<strong>in</strong>g problems will not be <strong>in</strong>dicated <strong>in</strong> the<br />
display, but can be dealt with as follows:<br />
What to do if ... . .<br />
. . . no message appears <strong>in</strong> the display.<br />
The mach<strong>in</strong>e is not connected to the electricity<br />
supply.<br />
^ Is the mach<strong>in</strong>e front closed properly<br />
^ Check that the fuse is not defective and that the<br />
ma<strong>in</strong>s fuse has not blown. If it has, consult the<br />
<strong>Miele</strong> Service department.<br />
. . . the light<strong>in</strong>g does not come on when the<br />
selector is turned to “In Operation with light<strong>in</strong>g”<br />
or “Light<strong>in</strong>g”.<br />
^ Is the front of the mach<strong>in</strong>e open<br />
^ Is the mach<strong>in</strong>e <strong>in</strong> standby mode<br />
^ Is the mach<strong>in</strong>e locked<br />
If not, the fluorescent lamp is faulty. To replace it with<br />
a new one:<br />
