Transport Layer<br />
DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplex)<br />
The division completed development of the DWDMbased<br />
transport network in the North-West area of<br />
Croatia as a technology that will further improve fast<br />
provisioning of wholesale services fulfilling broadband<br />
capacity demand and brings opex savings.<br />
Modernization of IP/MPLS network<br />
Replacement of older generation P routers with new<br />
terabit routers at the Osijek and Rijeka site was completed.<br />
TV). The first phase of PCRF integration has enabled<br />
SSD (“Speed Step Down”) functionality in the Mobile<br />
Internet service.<br />
PSTN Migration<br />
67,300 customers were migrated to VoIP (HALO<br />
service over a broadband access port). Preparations<br />

Business Review <strong>2011</strong><br />
Migration to IP<br />
The migration of 3G sites from ATM (Asynchronous<br />
Transfer Mode) to IP (Internet Protocol) is completed,<br />
aiming to increase mobile broadband data speeds and<br />
to lower cost. Migration of the T-Mobile IP network to<br />
the T-Com IP public networks completed.<br />
Core Layer<br />
Fixed core modernization<br />
IMS core capacity was extended in accordance with<br />
PSTN migration plans. Migration from AXE based<br />
technology towards TSS/MGW (layered, IP based)<br />
technology continues.<br />
Mobile core modernization<br />
T-HT is the first operator within DT Group to embark<br />
on migration to R4 architecture (enabler for VoIP<br />
based services) and the migration of all traffic from<br />
R99 based network to the new R4 architecture was<br />
fully completed. The first phase of the project to<br />
introduce HD Voice on the 3G mobile network, based<br />
on WB-AMR codec, was successfully completed. To<br />
support marketing requirements related to Mobile<br />
Internet (MI), a PCRF platform was successfully<br />
installed and integrated. PCRF platform has a central<br />
role in the network when detecting and applying<br />
different QoS (“Quality of Service”) profiles depending<br />
on the category of user (“Quality Differentiation”) and<br />
/ or category of services (Internet, voice, video, mobile<br />
The remote device management HW and SW<br />
modernization project was completed. The existing<br />
system was upgraded with a firewall to enable<br />
selective blocking of SMS messages received from<br />
SMS centers outside RH per sender.<br />
IP TV<br />
PPV (Pay-Per-View) functionality was launched for<br />
special events on dedicated channels on the MAXtv<br />
platform. A web/mobile TV platform was installed and<br />
the MAXtv-to-go service was launched. Facebook<br />
services were launched on the MAXtv platform.<br />
DTH<br />
The MAXtv SAT platform was upgraded and end user<br />
devices were paired with high security software. T-HT<br />
installed and launched its own satellite uplink in the<br />
Varaždin Data center.<br />
Portal services<br />
In <strong>2011</strong>, the new MyT Business self care portal with<br />
bill checking functionality was launched. The MAXtv<br />
portal was launched on tportal. Other new services<br />
included DLSI (Digital Life Store International), My<br />
phonebook and a new portal for SLA services. This<br />
portal is a reporting tool for external and internal<br />
customers and a proactive fault repair tool for internal<br />
users.
