<strong>Interim</strong> Report, No 3, 19 <strong>September</strong> <strong>2011</strong> – 18 <strong>March</strong> 2012<br />

The following tasks are planned to be implemented in the coming <strong>report</strong>ing period:<br />

Finalisation of training topics<br />

The training topics in the area of cross border nature protection areas with special reference to<br />

compliance and enforcement systems have been identified as follows (draft):<br />

• cross border enforcement aspects;<br />

• enforcement systems in poaching and illegal logging;<br />

• monitoring <strong>report</strong>ing;<br />

• enforcement strategy;<br />

• general knowledge on the compliance and enforcement aspects related to the Habitats and<br />

Wild birds directive and CITES convention;<br />

• inspection planning in nature reserves/national parks,<br />

• response to non-compliance;<br />

• assessment of means and materials in Nature Inspection;<br />

• cooperation and communication with other authorities and the public.<br />

• Elaboration of training materials and subjects<br />

Elaboration of training materials<br />

The following training materials will be prepared: PPTs, checklists, basic supporting documents and<br />

regulations.<br />

As per the work plan, two regional workshops will be delivered in October and November 2012.<br />

Activity 4.6 ECENA participation in relevant networking activities<br />

Continued support is envisaged by presentations and participation of the TL and RENA team<br />

members on RENA and its planned activities in various frameworks including RCC, IMPEL, EF<br />

Project and IFIs.<br />

Further support to participation of ECENA members in other networks (GAM IMPEL, IMPEL<br />

Cluster 1, IMPEL Cluster 2, IMPEL Cluster 3, INTERPOL, Green Force and INECE) will be<br />

provided.<br />

In the IMPEL meeting of June 2012, a decision is expected by IMPEL(with a change of IMPEL<br />

statut and rules) to open its membership not only for EU candidate countries but also for potential<br />

candidates for EU membership.<br />
