The effectiveness of twice weekly versus daily iron treatment was investigated in
9- to 36-month-old Jordanian children with iron deficiency anemia (IDA). Recruited
subjects were full term, with normal growth and with no infectious diseases. Iron
deficiency anemia was diagnosed on combined criteria of hemoglobin (Hb) 10.5 g/dL,
a mean corpuscular volume (MCV) 72 fL, and a serum ferritin (SF) concentration
