technology and ICT in general, it is becoming interesting to expand the concept<br />

of community knowledge to automated observation of events in the real world.<br />

An example of the smart home concept using Internet of Things is represented<br />

in Figure 2.26.<br />

Smart phones are already equipped with a number of sensors and actuators:<br />

camera, microphone, accelerometers, temperature gauge, speakers, displays<br />

etc. A range of other portable sensing products that people will carry in their<br />

pockets will soon become available as well. Furthermore, our cars are equipped<br />

with a range of sensors capturing information about the car itself, and also<br />

about the road and traffic conditions.<br />

Intel is working to simplify deployment of the Internet of Things with its<br />

Intelligent Systems Framework (Intel R ISF), a set of interoperable solutions
