CHAPTER III<br />

B and C Licences<br />

Article 8.<br />

B Licences<br />

Each year ECA will grant B Licences to the clubs whose teams<br />

have won their Domestic Championship in the previous season<br />

according to the place that their country occupies in the<br />

<strong>Euroleague</strong> Country Ranking elaborated by ECA (Appendix I).<br />

Additionally, ECA may grant licences to the clubs ranked in the<br />

second or third place of their Domestic Championship according<br />

to the place that their country occupies in the <strong>Euroleague</strong><br />

Country Ranking.<br />

For the Adriatic League, in which teams from different countries<br />

are participating, ECA may grant a licence to a club ranked<br />

below the third place when the champion and the runner-up<br />

come from the same country. In this case, ECA may grant a<br />

third licence to the highest place club from another country.<br />

Article 9.<br />

Criteria for Allocating B Licences<br />

ECA will grant a minimum of seven B Licences with the right to<br />

have direct access to the competition and one B Licence through<br />

Qualifying Rounds, to the clubs that comply with the following<br />

criteria:<br />

9.1. The B Licences will be allocated to the highest placed clubs in<br />

the <strong>Euroleague</strong> Country Ranking who have not previously been<br />

granted an A Licence. When a position is occupied by an A<br />

Licence Club, the right will fall upon the club placed in the<br />

following position of the <strong>Euroleague</strong> Country Ranking, and so on<br />

until allocating the seven places.<br />

A maximum of eight places for the Qualifying Rounds will be<br />

allocated following the same <strong>Euroleague</strong> Country Ranking and<br />

criteria, although ECA reserves the right to grant wild cards. In<br />

all cases, the clubs that will participate in the Qualifying Rounds<br />

will comply with all the criteria established in this Article 9.<br />

9.2. Use of an arena with a minimum capacity for 5,000 seated<br />

spectators that is less than a four-hour commercial flight from<br />

Frankfurt (on the understanding that this city is considered as<br />

being in the geographical centre of the European Union territory<br />
