The whole backboard support structure will meet the<br />

requirements of rigidity and elasticity established by FIBA.<br />

The basket support structures will be suitably installed on the<br />

floor to ensure the safety of the players and referees.<br />

43.4. Replacement Equipment<br />

The arena must have one basket support structure and two<br />

spare backboards for replacement in the event of breakage, with<br />

the ring already duly installed on one of them.<br />

The club will have the necessary technical and personal means<br />

for the replacement to be made with the utmost speed.<br />

Article 44.<br />

Baskets<br />

44.1. Rings<br />

The baskets must fulfil the following requirements:<br />

The rings, which will be of pressure-release type, must comply<br />

with the technical conditions and specifications established by<br />

FIBA. The rings will be installed in such a way that no force<br />

applied to the ring will be transferred to the backboard.<br />

Therefore there will be no direct contact between the ring<br />

mounting plate and the backboard.<br />

The rings must be of solid steel, with an inside diameter of a<br />

minimum of 450mm and a maximum of 459mm, painted<br />

orange.<br />

The metal of the rings will have a minimum width of 16mm and<br />

a maximum width of 20mm.<br />

When the pressure-release mechanism is activated by an<br />

applied force, the ring will not lower more than 30º below the<br />

original horizontal position.<br />

When the force above is no longer applied, the ring will return<br />

automatically and instantly to the original position.<br />

The arena must have at least two spare rings for replacement in<br />

case of damage.<br />
