<strong>College</strong> Policies<br />
1. Agents for Business<br />
All campus organizations desiring to conduct drives, sales or collections of any kind,<br />
must receive permission for the activity from the Office of <strong>Student</strong> Activities, 48 hours<br />
prior to the date of the sale, drive or collection. Signs advertising activities or sales must<br />
be approved in the Office of <strong>Student</strong> Activities prior to posting in compliance with the<br />
Posting of Signs Procedures.<br />
2. Campus Protest Policy<br />
The right of peaceful protest is granted within the college community. The institution<br />
retains the right and assumes the obligation of assuring the safety of individual, the<br />
protection of property and the continuity of the educational processes. Orderly picketing<br />
and other forms of peaceful protest are permitted by the college and on the premises<br />
subject to the following limitations:<br />
a. Interference with progress to and from <strong>College</strong> facilities, interruption of class or<br />
damages to property.<br />
b. Any student, group or organization on campus recruiting, provided that the protest<br />
does not interfere with any other student’s rights to be interviewed.<br />
c. The <strong>College</strong> may choose its own method of discipline in handling the situation.<br />
3. Closing of Campus Facilities<br />
All residence halls are closed to the public at midnight. Security Officers will open doors<br />
for students to enter upon proper identification.<br />
Persons on campus after midnight should be going or coming from campus facilities and<br />
not loitering on campus or sitting in automobiles. Proper identification must be presented<br />
to Security Officers upon request.<br />
4. Disruptive Activities<br />
Dissent is the right of free men and women and sometimes the special obligation of<br />
members of the academic community. The existing structure allows members of the<br />
<strong>College</strong> community to voice their opinions through established channels of<br />
communication. No member or group within this institution shall be allowed to bring to<br />
a halt the essential operation of the <strong>College</strong> no matter how serious or urgent he or she<br />
may believe the grievances to be.<br />
The Office of <strong>Student</strong> Affairs is charged with maintaining a community where the<br />
education process will not be hampered.<br />
The following types of disruptive activities are illustrative or behaviors that are not<br />
legitimate tactics of dissent:<br />
