OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES<br />

All officers, with the exception of the General Secretary and<br />
Parliamentarian, shall have voting power; of the 27 members 25 will have<br />
voting power.<br />
A mandatory transitional meeting shall be conducted by the old SGA for<br />
the new SGA in April each year following the elections.<br />
The President shall:<br />
(a) preside at all meetings of the SGA<br />
(b) be responsible for all functions of the SGA<br />
(c) represent the SGA for public occasions<br />
(d) serve as the direct liaison between Administration and the <strong>Student</strong><br />
Body<br />
(e) provide monthly reports of activities relating to SGA<br />
(f) appoint Chairman of the Elections Supervisory Committee<br />
(g) serve as Chairman of the Executive Committee<br />
(h) serve as Ex-officio of all SGA committees, except Elections<br />
Supervisory Committee<br />
The Vice-President shall:<br />
(a) perform all the duties of the President in his or her absence or inability<br />
(b) in the event of the resignation, removal, or death of the president shall<br />
automatically ascend to the role of president for the remainder of the<br />
term of presidency<br />
(c) serve as Chairman of the <strong>Student</strong> Activities Committee<br />
The Judiciary Chairman shall:<br />
(a) serve as Chairman of the Judiciary Council<br />
(b) inform council members of the date, time, and place of each hearing<br />
(c) reserves the site for the hearing<br />
(d) open and close the hearing, records the proceedings, and<br />
communicates the decision of the Council to the defendant at the<br />
conclusion of the proceedings<br />
(e) submit the decision of the Council to the Dean of <strong>Student</strong>s for further<br />
action<br />
(f) coordinate all town hall meetings concerning the student body<br />
Mr. & Miss <strong>Tougaloo</strong> <strong>College</strong> shall:<br />
(a) serve as a host/hostess and ambassadors for the college (on and off<br />
campus)<br />
(b) assist in the recruiting process<br />
(c) represent <strong>Tougaloo</strong> <strong>College</strong> in pageants<br />
(d) be advisors to all members of the <strong>Student</strong> Body<br />
(e) publish a monthly newsletter<br />
Class Presidents shall:<br />
(a) be responsible for monthly meetings with the SGA<br />
