Types of Services<br />
The Office of Counseling Services provides individual and group counseling to all students,<br />
faculty, and staff. Sample problems include:<br />

Workshops<br />
The Office of Counseling Services sponsors workshops each semester that are designed to<br />
prepare students for college survival and enlighten them on life issues that they will face after<br />
graduation. Sample topics include Adjustment to <strong>College</strong>, Stress Management, Self-esteem,<br />
Male/Female Relationships, Sexual Assault, and Drugs and Alcohol. The workshops are<br />
presented in a variety of settings.<br />
Freshmen Orientation<br />
The Office of Counseling Services takes an active role in planning the program and activities for<br />
Freshmen Orientation. The intent is to design a program that gives the new student a bird’s eye<br />
view of resources available for helping them ease their transition from high school to college.<br />
Hopefully, freshmen will feel welcome and will experience a reduction of the stress associated<br />
with a new environment.<br />
Active Minds<br />
Active Minds plan campus-wide events that work to change the conversation about mental<br />
health. By promoting awareness and education, the organization aims to promote a dialogue<br />
around mental health, and create a comfortable environment for open discussion of mental health<br />
issues.<br />
