Quality <strong>in</strong> schools<br />

Abstract. Ballast on public <strong>and</strong> private f<strong>in</strong>ance connected with fast growth <strong>of</strong> academic education<br />

<strong>in</strong>creases <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> assurance <strong>of</strong> quality <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>of</strong> academic education. A school needs to show that<br />

quality <strong>of</strong> its curricula <strong>and</strong> academic degrees is <strong>of</strong> importance <strong>and</strong> that it is will<strong>in</strong>g to implement means to<br />

assure <strong>and</strong> demonstrate this quality. Current <strong>the</strong>oretical outcomes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> study are devoted to <strong>the</strong> def<strong>in</strong>ition<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> content <strong>of</strong> quality under <strong>the</strong> conditions <strong>of</strong> a college. In <strong>the</strong> results <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> paper <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> discussion we<br />

<strong>in</strong>terpret <strong>the</strong> project <strong>of</strong> FMK UCM <strong>in</strong> Trnava focused on creation <strong>of</strong> a cyclically directed system <strong>of</strong><br />

evaluation, whose result will be concrete measures for <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g quality <strong>of</strong> academic education <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

curriculum <strong>of</strong> market<strong>in</strong>g communication.<br />

1. Introduction<br />

The term “quality” “ is <strong>of</strong>ten used <strong>in</strong> various contexts <strong>and</strong> mean<strong>in</strong>gs, <strong>the</strong>refore it is necessary first <strong>of</strong> all<br />

to def<strong>in</strong>e its content <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> conditions <strong>of</strong> a school. Quality <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> system is a feature <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> object with<br />

a given structure to reach at given conditions optimal meet<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> requirements, result<strong>in</strong>g from satisfy<strong>in</strong>g<br />

needs <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>volved partners. Quality <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> system at accomplish<strong>in</strong>g desired targets may be ensured only<br />

by quality <strong>of</strong> its components <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir mutual relationships, thus quality <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> structure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> system <strong>and</strong><br />

quality <strong>of</strong> its management. Quality <strong>of</strong> a school is <strong>the</strong> optimal function<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> processes at schools, ma<strong>in</strong>ly<br />

<strong>the</strong> process <strong>of</strong> education, with which partners <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> school are satisfied, which is objectively measured <strong>and</strong><br />

evaluated [6].<br />

Management <strong>of</strong> quality <strong>in</strong> schools as coord<strong>in</strong>ated activities focused on quality management, on<br />

permanent improvement, is related to <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g:<br />

Educational system <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> state – its targets, philosophy, content, structure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> system, pr<strong>in</strong>ciples<br />

<strong>of</strong> management, fund<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> its o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>characteristics</strong>.<br />

School (educational <strong>in</strong>stitution) – each school should elaborate its own system <strong>of</strong> quality<br />

management, which would be related to all processes <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> school <strong>and</strong> all school employees. For <strong>the</strong><br />
