3.4 Requirements for the site Requirements for the new pipe It goes without saying that when trenchless installation techniques are being, exacting demands are made not only on the pipes and the accessories but also on the machinery used by the companies doing the work and on their qualified specialist personnel. There has to be sophisticated quality assurance system in this case to ensure a high standard of safety and quality for the new pipeline. The company provides evidence that it is suitably qualified by having the appropriate certification under DVGW Arbeitsblatt GW 301 [3. ] in supplementary group GN 1. This ensures that the pipeline which is installed by trenchless means will meet the demands that are made on it not only from the point of view of cost of installation but also in the long term, even beyond the full operating life that is demanded.
