In addition, <strong>in</strong> Estoniaanother project has been submitted to the European Social Fund (Measure 1.1) theobjective of which is to implement the Innomet system throughout Estonia<strong>in</strong>volv<strong>in</strong>g 10 major schools and 100 companies (full-scale data and comparability).However, <strong>in</strong> different countries the scope of the project is different <strong>in</strong>volv<strong>in</strong>g onlythe core network partners of the organisation.The project and Innomet system as such identify the bottlenecks (lack ofqualified labour force, development problems related to human resources) of theeducational and tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g system vis-à-vis the exist<strong>in</strong>g private sector labour forceneeds.Figure 4.3 Innomet <strong>in</strong> EuropeTherefore, with this project, the quality of both education programmes andcooperation between educational <strong>in</strong>stitutions and private sector companies will beimproved through <strong>in</strong>teraction and network<strong>in</strong>g. Direct impact on different targetgroups is the follow<strong>in</strong>g:• The system <strong>in</strong>troduced offers a new <strong>in</strong>novative channel to improve theeveryday communication and cooperation between educational <strong>in</strong>stitutions(professors, tra<strong>in</strong>ers, students), sectoral associations and companies, whichare all <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> the project. In addition, professors and tra<strong>in</strong>ers can moreeasily adapt and up-date their study programmes accord<strong>in</strong>g to the privatesector labour force demand. For education and plann<strong>in</strong>g purposes, the cooperationplatform with an <strong>in</strong><strong>format</strong>ion system helps to streaml<strong>in</strong>e higherand vocational education programmes to better respond to market needs.This will lead to a high skill and competence profile of students andtra<strong>in</strong>ees and better competitiveness of human resource <strong>in</strong> general.48
