StreamPro ADCP Operation Manual9.4.6 Water Profiling CommandsThe following commands define the criteria used to collect the water-profiledata.WF – Blank after TransmitPurpose Moves the location of first depth cell away from the transducerhead to allow the transmit circuits time to recover beforethe receive cycle begins.Format WFnnnnRange nnnn = 0 to 50 cm (19.7 inches)Default WF0003Recommended Setting. The default setting for this command isrecommended for most applications.DescriptionWF positions the start of the first depth cell at some verticaldistance from the transducer head. This allows the StreamProtransmit circuits time to recover before beginning the receivecycle. In effect, WF blanks out bad data close to the transducerhead, thus creating a depth window that reduces unwanteddata in the ensemble.NOTES.1. The distance to the middle of depth cell #1 is a function of blank aftertransmit (WF), depth cell size (WS), and speed of sound. The fixed leaderdata contains this distance.2. Small WF values may show ringing/recovery problems in the first depthcells that cannot be screened by the StreamPro.WN – Number of BinsPurposeFormatRangeDefaultSets the number of bins over which the StreamPro collectsdata.WNnnnnnn = 0 to 20 binsWN020Recommended Setting.
