StreamPro ADCP Operation Manual10 Introduction to Output Data FormatThis section shows the output data format of the StreamPro. We explain theoutput data formats in enough detail to let you create your own data processingor analysis programs (see “How to Decode an ADCP Ensemble,”page 83).The following description is for the standard PD0 StreamPro output dataformat. Figure 25, page 58 through Figure 32, page 82 shows the ASCIIand binary data formats for the StreamPro PD0 mode. Table 9, page 59through Table 18, page 82 defines each field in the output data structure. After completing a data collection cycle, the StreamPro immediately sendsa data ensemble. The following pages show the types and sequence of datathat you may include in the StreamPro output data ensemble and thenumber of bytes required for each data type. The StreamPro sends all thedata for a given type for all depth cells and all beams before the next datatype begins. The StreamPro by default is set to collect velocity, correlation data, echointensity, and percent good data. The data, preceded by ID code 7F7F, containsheader data (explained in Table 9, page 59). The fixed and variableleader data is preceded by ID codes 0000 and 0080, (explained in Table 10,page 62 and Table 11, page 68). The StreamPro always collects Header andLeader. The table below shows some of the most common IDs.Table 8:Data ID CodesID LSB MSB Description0x7F7F 7F 7F Header0x0000 00 00 Fixed Leader0x0080 80 00 Variable Leader0x0100 00 01 Velocity Profile Data0x0200 00 02 Correlation Profile Data0x0300 00 03 Echo Intensity Profile Data0x0400 00 04 Percent Good Profile Data0x0600 00 06 Bottom Track DataNOTE.
