Before Lighting ApplianceRead this entire manual prior to using the appliance.Failure to follow the instructions may result in propertydamage, bodily injury, or even death.CAUTIONIf installing IntelliFire ignition battery backup:• Do not install batteries if the backup mode may not beused for extended time.• Batteries may leak.• Install batteries only when needed for power outage.Before operating this appliance have a qualified technician:• Remove all shipping materials from inside and/orunderneath the fi rebox.• Review proper placement of logs and mineral wool.• Check the wiring.• Check the baffl e adjustment.• Ensure that there are no gas leaks.• Ensure that the glass is sealed and in the properposition.• Ensure that the fl ow of combustion and ventilation air isnot obstructed (front grilles and vent caps).WARNINGGlass door must be in place whenappliance is operating.Risk of:• Combustion Fumes• FireDo NOT operate appliance with glassdoor removed.• Open viewing glass for servicing only.• Glass door MUST be in place and sealed before operatingappliance.• Only use glass door certifi ed for use with appliance.• Glass replacement should be done by qualifi ed technician.B. ControlsOn/off Switch: When this switch is in the ON position, thepilot ignitor is engaged until temperature is established.The burner automatically turns on.Valve Variable Control: This knob controls the flameheight from low (“LO”) to high (“HI”). The indicator on thevalve indicates the position of the knob.Variable Speed Control: The blower is optional installedon the appliance and this knob controls the speed of theblower that pushes the heated air into the room.Valve Variable ControlWARNINGHOT SURFACES!Glass and other surfaces are hot duringoperation AND cool down.Hot glass will cause burns.• Do not touch glass until it is cooled• NEVER allow children to touch glass• Keep children away• CAREFULLY SUPERVISE children in same room asfi replace.• Alert children and adults to hazards of high temperatures.High temperatures may ignite clothing or otherflammable materials.• Keep clothing, furniture, draperies and other fl ammablematerials away.WARNINGDo NOT use this appliance if any part has been under water.Immediately call a qualifi ed service technician to inspect theappliance and to replace any part of the control system andany gas control which has been under water.Note: If using a remote control wall switch, or thermostat,the On/Off Switch must be left “OFF”.
