There are seats insid ethe ticket office and benches on the platform, two of which are protectedfrom the weather by the station awning. The area is clean, well lit and free ofgraffiti. Safety is good as the station is staffed from 5:50am to 7:45pm onweekdays, 6:10am to 7:45pm on Saturdays and 8:30am to 7:50pm on Sundays.The north-side platform also has a shelter with seating, and benches on theplatform.5.4.12 The waiting environment at the bus stop is fair. There is shelter availab leunder the overhang of the railway station roof but no seating. The area isclean and free of graffiti but the bus timetab le case is scratched and has glueor sticky tape marks on it which makes the small text on the timetab lesharder to read.Interchange Facilities5.4.13 Honiton rail-bus interchange has a fairly good range of facilities. The railwaystation has a staffed ticket office open throughout the day, toilets, a selfserviceticket machine, a full range of information leaf lets and standardtimetables, an electronic departures board on the platform and another in theticket office. The station has good signage. There is a public telephoneoutside the station.Likely Usage5.4.14 The Honiton Rail-Bus interchange already provides useful connections onweekdays and Saturdays to access the coast. However, interchange returningfrom the coast is poor, since only three buses a day from Sidmouth stop at therailway station. At other times a walk of about 10 minutes from Lace Walk onHoniton High Street is required. On Sundays rail-bus connections at Honitonare very poor in both directions.5.4.15 Connections from the train to the bus are best coming from the Londondirection.
