DOWNTOWNRENAISSANCE3<strong>Downtown</strong> <strong>Las</strong> <strong>Vegas</strong> has seen itsfirst renaissance as a true urban centerfor the entire <strong>Las</strong> <strong>Vegas</strong> Valley duringthe past ten years. The opening <strong>of</strong> theFremont Street Experience in 1995 (Photo4) marked the beginning <strong>of</strong> a series <strong>of</strong>new development projects and a succession<strong>of</strong> rapid, positive changes. Thenew Molasky Building (Photo 5) wasdedicated in 2007, anchoring the initialredevelopment <strong>of</strong> the Union Pacific railyards and setting a high architecturaland sustainability standard for new developmentto follow. The Lloyd GeorgeFederal Courthouse (Photo 6), dedicatedin 2000, continued the government ledtrend <strong>of</strong> exceptional new architecture.In 2003, The Chelsea PremiumOutlet Mall opened and the first majordowntown residential project, BridgerApartments, was completed.
