District 8: East Village – Goal: To promote future opportunities for newcommercial ventures and for the integration <strong>of</strong> medium densitymixed-income residential neighborhoods. The East Village Districtis the traditional area <strong>of</strong> the downtown. The boundary is <strong>Las</strong> <strong>Vegas</strong>Boulevard on the west, Odgen Avenue to 15th Street, then the propertieson the north side <strong>of</strong> Fremont Street on the north, Eastern Avenue onthe east and the properties on the south side <strong>of</strong> Fremont Street to 15thStreet and then Carson Avenue to <strong>Las</strong> <strong>Vegas</strong> Boulevard on the south.District 9: The Fremont East District – Goal: To create a pedestrian friendly communitythat combines diverse street life, local businesses, eateries, sidewalkcafes, bars and cocktail lounges, lively entertainment, independentretail, and residential living, while preserving the historic gambling house.The Fremont East District anchors the western section <strong>of</strong> the East VillageDistrict and is bound by <strong>Las</strong> <strong>Vegas</strong> Boulevard on the west, Ogden Avenueon the north, 7th Street on the east and Carson Avenue on the south.District 10: Industrial District – Goal: To promote redevelopment andnew development for industrial opportunities within the context<strong>of</strong> the <strong>Downtown</strong> <strong>Centennial</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>. The corridor, which contains aconcentration <strong>of</strong> auto repair shops, outdoor storage yards and towingimpound yards, includes the Union Pacific Railroad to the eastand the I-15 freeway to the west.
