Os. are authorised to make paymentof refund of revenue by cheques in respect of all sums paid into the treasuryby a departmental officer or on his account after due verification from C. T.Rs. sent to them by the Treasury Officers as well as from their cash bookswithout referring the refund bill to the Treasury Officer.(2) Bills for refunds of sums credited or items deposited in one treasuryshould not be made payable at any other treasury.Note:- Refund of fines be made in the district where fine was inflicted thoughcredited in another district after the presiding officer of the Court has certified on therefund voucher to the effect that the intimation of the refund has been sent to theTreasury Officer concerned to record the fact against the credit entry in the treasuryaccounts.(3) The sanction necessary for refunds of revenue is regulated by the ordersof Government. The sanction may either be given on the voucher itself or quoted init, a certified copy being attached when such orders are not separatelycommunicated to the audit office.Exception:- Refund of Irrigation Revenue credited into the treasury is sanctioned bythe Executive Engineer on a refund statement and paid departmentally, videExecutive Instruction 9 under section 47 of the Madhya Pradesh IrrigationAct, 1931(III of 1931).420. If the amount of an examination fee, or any part of it, is to be refunded, acertificate will be endorsed upon the original receipt by the Secretary, Public ServiceCommission, or the appropriate authority concerned, specifying the amount to berefunded; and the amount so authorised may be paid on presentation of the originalreceipt endorsed as above, the recipient giving his receipt below the endorsement.Note:- When a refund has to be made of a part of a lump sum remitted into thetreasury on behalf of several candidates in a school, for which a singlecollective receipt has been issued, the procedure, laid down in Subsidiary Rule419(1) should be followed.CHAPTER IV 43 of 60WITHDRAWAL FROM <strong>THE</strong> CONSOLIDATED FUNDAND <strong>THE</strong> PUBLIC ACCOUNT
