4.11 SummaryIn lower grades more learners were attaining acceptable achievement levels than in higher grades. More learnerswere attaining acceptable achievement levels in Language than in Mathematics. In First Additional Language learnersperformed less well than in Home Language. Learners in independent schools achieved slightly better than learners inpublic schools. Learners in special schools achieved at about the same level as learners in mainstream schools.Achievement in 2014 may be compared to the targets set for Grades 3 and 6 in the Action Plan. The targets werereached for Grade 3 Mathematics and Language.
