A double-capturing processwas followed to ensure accuracy in the capture process. The capturing process started early in October 2014 andconcluded by mid-November 2014. All learners’ marks were recorded on a computer-generated mark sheet, which wasforwarded to a central capturing centre that was managed by provincial officials. In the Eastern Cape the capture ofmarks was decentralised to each of the 23 districts. In all provinces, the district office was tasked with the responsibilityof keeping an accurate record of the mark sheets received.34 | REPORT ON THE ANNUAL NATIONAL ASSESSMENTS OF 2014
