11.8 Accuracy and speed of calculationsThis section discusses accuracy in the integration of gamma-ray yields. Integration accuracy affects calculatedyields as well as minimization (through the correction factors calculated by OP,INTG and OP,CORR).Accuracy in the chi-squared minimization process is discussed in detail in chapter 4.While the integrated yields do not present convergence issues in the majority of calculations, even withdefault accuracy settings, special attention should be given to the following:1. High transition energies (>2 MeV in one step). In these cases (and in any case where speed is not aproblem), it is recommended that the INT option in the CONT (control) block be used to set IS=1000for maximum accuracy. In addition, note that the use of very fine integration meshpoints (OP,INTG)may introduce convergence problems with high transition energies.2. Experiments involving light (A
