ii)Seas<strong>on</strong>al Calendar: Seas<strong>on</strong>al calendar is a tool that helps the team to explore changes takingplace over a period of time. It also helps find out what happens during different seas<strong>on</strong>s. Thestudy team used seas<strong>on</strong>al calendar to measure the sowing <strong>and</strong> harvesting time of rice, wheat <strong>and</strong>maize in the study area.iii) Venn diagram: Venn diagram was used to indicate the c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong> of different organizati<strong>on</strong>s inthe village <strong>and</strong> to identify the source of service received from various sectors <strong>for</strong> rice, wheat <strong>and</strong>maize cultivati<strong>on</strong>.iv) Matrix ranking: Matrix ranking exercise shows the relative priority of the criteria used injudgments, choices <strong>and</strong> decisi<strong>on</strong> regarding varietal preference <strong>and</strong> choice of storage device <strong>for</strong>seed preservati<strong>on</strong> of rice <strong>and</strong> wheat.v) Preference ranking: Preference ranking is a method, which helps to know the choice ofselecti<strong>on</strong> of things <strong>on</strong> a priority basis. The PRA study team used this technique to identify thepriority problems of growing rice, wheat <strong>and</strong> maize crops. Participants scored <strong>and</strong> ranked thec<strong>on</strong>straints of rice, wheat <strong>and</strong> maize cultivati<strong>on</strong> in the study area.vi) Producti<strong>on</strong> flow chart: Producti<strong>on</strong> flow chart shows the steps in producti<strong>on</strong> process, cost ofproducti<strong>on</strong>, yield, gross margin <strong>and</strong> benefit cost ratio of different crops grown in the same type ofl<strong>and</strong>.At the end of PRA a group discussi<strong>on</strong> was arranged with the farmers to validate the collectedin<strong>for</strong>mati<strong>on</strong>. In the study time the team was divided into sub-groups with definite role.
