The purposes of the National Legal MentoringConsortium are to encourage mentoring in the legal profession; to provide a venue for theexchange of ideas related to mentoring in the legal profession; and to provide resources to aidin the successful creation and operation of mentoring initiatives within law firms, barorganizations, law schools, courts, and other entities within the legal profession.“Managing Mentoring Programs in a Time of Change” took place on October 4-6, 2012.Judges and attorneys from across the country discussed ways to create and sustain mentoringprograms in the legal profession. The former TILPP Director, Douglas Ashworth, and Ipresented a session on “Leading Your Formal Program Through Leadership Transition.”We provided suggestions and resources to help programs prepare for and survive changes inleadership. John Baldwin, Executive Director of the Utah State Bar, also made a separatepresentation on this topic.140
