Consistent with our section goals toimprove judicial procedures and court operations and to increase interactionbetween the bench and the bar of the State Bar of Georgia, we are invitingthe Gate City Bar Association –Judicial Section, the Atlanta Bar JudicialSection, and the General Practice and Trial Law Section, to join us at theluncheon.For this year’s luncheon, we are awarding the section’s “Spirit of JusticeAward” to The Honorable Nathan Deal, Governor of Georgia, for hisshepherding through the Legislature the new Georgia Criminal JusticeReform for adults and juveniles. A Posthumous Award will be given inmemory of The Honorable Anne Workman, Judge of the Superior Courtof DeKalb County, and Past Chair of the State Bar Judicial Section, for herservice to the judicial community and to the State Bar.Our first CLE is expected to be interesting and informative for Judges andAttorneys alike, with Jeff Davis, Executive Director of the JudicialQualifications Commission, slated as our guest luncheon speaker.Johnny Mason, ChairJudicial SectionState Bar of Georgia 2012-2013299
