T<strong>here</strong> being no objection or request for removal <strong>of</strong> anyitem, a motion w<strong>as</strong> made and seconded to approve <strong>the</strong> following items:1) Minutes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 245 th Meeting <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> GovernorsThe minutes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> Governors meetings on January 12, 2013, at <strong>the</strong> St. Regis Hotel inAtlanta, <strong>Georgia</strong>, <strong>as</strong> presented.2) Executive Committee Minutes (information)The minutes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Executive Committee meetings on November 14, 2012, and January 30, 2013,<strong>as</strong> presented.3) Future Meetings Schedule (information)The current Future Meetings Schedule, <strong>as</strong> presented.The <strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> Governors, by unanimous voice vote, approved all <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> above items on <strong>the</strong> ConsentAgenda.2013 <strong>Georgia</strong> General Assembly UpdateRusty Sewell provided an update on <strong>the</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong> General Assembly and <strong>Bar</strong>-specific legislation. Herecognized Josh McKoon, Chair <strong>of</strong> Senate Civil Judiciary Committee, Jesse Stone, Chair <strong>of</strong> Senate Non-Civil Committee, and Tom Weldon, Chair <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> House Juvenile Justice Committee, who have beenextremely helpful with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Bar</strong>’s legislative efforts. He reported that <strong>the</strong> Executive Committee opposedS.B. 141 (Patient Injury Act) and S.B. 202 (Bill <strong>of</strong> Rights, Long Term Nursing Homes).President Clark announced that she is very proud <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Bar</strong>’s lobbying team and how wellrepresented <strong>the</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Bar</strong> is at <strong>the</strong> Capitol due to <strong>the</strong>ir efforts. T<strong>here</strong>after, she shared <strong>the</strong> legislative vide<strong>of</strong>or week 7 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong> General Assembly.Report <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Special Council on Criminal Justice Reform in <strong>Georgia</strong>, Introduced <strong>as</strong> H.B. 242The <strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> Governors received a copy <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Report on Legislative Action taken under Standing <strong>Board</strong>Policy 100, Section 1.03, favorably supporting H.B. 242, <strong>the</strong> Juvenile Code rewrite proposed legislation.27
