The primary purpose of the Financial Aid Program is toprovide financial assistance to students who, without such assistance,would find it impossible to receive a college education.The mission of the Office of <strong>Student</strong> Financial Aid is to assist students inapplying for and securing the financial resources available to pursue theireducational goals. The goal of this office is to provide the best financialaid package, consisting of assistance from federal, state, and institutionalprograms, tailored to meet each student’s need. Counseling and assistanceare also provided to students in the areas of Default Prevention and<strong>Student</strong> Loan Debt Management.<strong>Student</strong>s interested in applying for federal and state financial aid shouldcomplete the Free Application for Federal <strong>Student</strong> Aid (FAFSA) as earlyas possible, after January 1st of each year. Financial assistance is availableto students who complete the necessary application and are determinedeligible. The <strong>Student</strong> Financial Aid staff evaluates each student’sneed and makes awards based upon the information obtained from the<strong>Student</strong> Aid Report (SAR) or Institutional <strong>Student</strong> Information Report(ISIR) and in accordance with Federal, State, and <strong>University</strong> policies andguidelines.PRIORITY FILIG DATE - APRIL 15th(Completion of the FAFSA is required each year)Priority consideration will be given to those applications received on orbefore April 15th (provided the student meets all eligibility requirements,and if selected for verification, has submitted the required documentationto the <strong>Student</strong> Financial Aid Office). Applications received after this prioritydeadline will be processed in the order received and may not beprocessed in time for Fall registration.62
