AWARD COTIGECIESFinancial Aid Awards are made contingent upon fulfillment of the followingterms and conditions. When applying for, accepting the award offer and/or byobtaining the financial aid funds, the student accepts responsibility for complyingwith the following terms and conditions:Eligibility RequirementsTo receive student financial aid, the student must adhere to thefollowing:• have completed admissions requirements for the <strong>University</strong>;• have financial need, except for non-need based aid;• have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED)Certificate, pass a test approved by the U. S. Department of Education,meet other standards that the student establishes that are approved by theU. S. Department of Education, or complete a high school education in ahome school setting that is treated as a home school or private school understate law; (Contact your financial aid administrator for more information).• be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student working towarda degree or certificate in an eligible program.;• be a U. S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.• have a valid Social Security Number; (If a student does not have a SocialSecurity Number, he or she can find out more about applying for onethrough the Internet at www.ssa.gov.• not be in default on a Federal <strong>Student</strong> Loan;• not owe a repayment of any Title IV aid;• meet SUNO’s satisfactory academic progress standards; and• register with the Selective Service, if required. Males 18 through 25 yearsof age who have not yet registered with the Selective Service, can give theSelective Service permission to register them by checking a box on theFAFSA. <strong>Student</strong>s can also register through the Internet at www.ssa.govAdditional AssistanceShould assistance be made available to a student from other sources, such asscholarships, stipends, tuition waivers and/or outside agencies, those awards,when combined with all other aid received, must not exceed the student’s financialneed and/or cost of attendance, depending on the type of aid received.The following calculation is used to determine the student’s financial need:67
