From recruiting on high schooland community college campuses around the country and across the globeto admissions and beyond, the Enrollment Services staff seeks to assistqualified students with every aspect of the process of becoming and remaininga student at <strong>Southern</strong> <strong>University</strong> at <strong>New</strong> <strong>Orleans</strong>. More importantly,Enrollment Service units strive to accomplish the retention ofSUNO students by equipping students with information and tools that arevital to their success at SUNO.Enrollment Services collaborates with other departments such as FinancialAid and the Registrar’s Office of the <strong>University</strong> to create a studentcentered,service-based, friendly enrollment experience that is designed tomake the process flow as smoothly as possible.Enrollment Services is divided into two units: Enrollment Support Servicesand Academic Support Services.Enrollment Support ServicesThis unit establishes, directs, and oversees all recruitment and enrollmentactivities and includes:• The Office of RecruitmentAdministration Bldg., Room 308, 286-5314• The Office of AdmissionsAdministration Bldg., Rom 308, 286-5314The Office of Recruitment: Recruitment counselors travel to variouscollege fairs and junior colleges around the country in search of qualifiedcandidates for <strong>Southern</strong> <strong>University</strong> at <strong>New</strong> <strong>Orleans</strong>. These individuals arethe face of SUNO and seek to convey the many aspects of SUNO thatmake the <strong>University</strong> the number one choice for applicants.The Office of Admissions: The Office of Admissions personnel assistcandidates for admission with the <strong>University</strong>’s application process. Theapplication requirements are: high school/college transcript, immunizationrecords, ACT/SAT results, and Application fee. All applications and applicantfiles are handled with strict confidentiality.The Academic Support Services: This unit is responsible for planning,coordinating and supervising Freshman Assembly and College SurvivalSkills classes that equip first-time freshmen and transfer students with theskills they need to survive college.59
