Cost of Attendance-Expected Family Contribution=Financial eedOthers• The <strong>University</strong> reserves the right to review, adjust, or cancelan award due to changes in enrollment status, financial status,eligibility, and other reasons.• Default or owing a repayment of Title IV aid and failure tocomply with <strong>University</strong> regulations will also constitute areason for changing the awards.• An over-award will be deducted from the student’s award;otherwise, the student must repay the amount over-awarded.BASIS FOR DEIAL OF FIACIAL AIDFinancial Aid may be denied for the following reasons:1. defaulting on loans;2. owing a repayment on any Title IV aid;3. falsifying information which affects the determination ofeligibility for aid;4. failing to provide necessary verification/documentation; and5. failing to meet the minimum standards for satisfactory academicprogress.Any student who has been disqualified from participating in student financialaid programs because of academic reasons may re-apply for consideration ofsuch aid as soon as that student meets the prescribed standards for eligibilityor has successfully appealed his or her determination.VERIFICATIO POLICYVerification is the process used to check the accuracy of the information thata student submits when applying for Federal <strong>Student</strong> Aid. Verification proceduresare governed by the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, andSubpart E of 34 CFR part 688 “Verification of <strong>Student</strong> Aid Application Information”regulations published in the Federal Register on March 14, 1986 andAugust 15, 1986. Each school is required by the U. S. Department of Educationto verify all applicants selected by the Central Processing System (CPS),up to a limit of (30) percent of its total Financial Aid applicants for any typeof Title IV student aid. The Pell Grant, Subsidized Stafford Loan, SupplementalEducational Opportunity Grant, and College Work-Study are coveredby verification.68
