7. Statement of Concern - <strong>Student</strong> Affairs and Enrollment Services staffmembers may issue statements of concern to a student for violation ofCode One Offenses. Such statements shall be placed in the student’sofficial disciplinary file and may be a basis for further disciplinary referrals.This sanction is subject to review by the Vice Chancellor for <strong>Student</strong>Affairs and Enrollment Services. The statement of concern is removedat the time the student completes his or her degree program.8. Interim or Emergency Suspension - The <strong>University</strong> shall invoke thispolicy when <strong>University</strong> officials are faced with an urgent situation, thefacts of which indicate that a student’s continued presence on campusconstitutes a clear and convincing danger to the normal functions of theinstitution, to property, to others, or to the student himself or herself. Thesuspended student, however, shall have the right to appeal his or her caseimmediately until a regular hearing can be held.CODUCT OF STUDET ORGAIZATIOS<strong>Student</strong> organizations are subject to the provisions of the <strong>Student</strong> Code ofConduct. If a student organization is reported to have violated <strong>University</strong>policies and procedures or <strong>University</strong> rules and regulations printed in the <strong>Student</strong>Code of Conduct, the Executive Judicial Panel or Judicial Hearing Committeewill hear the case and impose appropriate sanctions.In cases involving Greek organizations or other organizations affiliated with anational body, the national organization will be notified of the disciplinarysanction imposed on its local affiliate.<strong>Student</strong> organizations that violate the <strong>University</strong>’s policies shall be subject tothe maximum sanction of termination or reprimand from the <strong>University</strong>, orany lesser sanction including, but not limited to, restriction or suspension ofthe privilege to sponsor fund -raising events, the loss of all funds allocated bythe <strong>University</strong>, and restitution for damages.CHAGES AD AMEDMETS TO THE CODE OFSTUDET CODUCTAny registered organization or judiciary board may propose changes in the<strong>Student</strong> Code of Conduct. Proposed amendments shall be reviewed by theExecutive Judicial Panel or the Judicial Hearing Committee and then submittedto the Vice Chancellor for <strong>Student</strong> Affairs and Enrollment Services or anofficial designee who will coordinate an extensive review of the amendments.The review shall include, but is not limited to, consultation with the <strong>Student</strong>Government Association and other appropriate bodies. The Vice Chancellorfor <strong>Student</strong> Affairs and Enrollment Services submits recommendations to theChancellor for action.100
