10 Vertical Flue - Length, Preparation and Installation10.14 Vertical flueThe vertical flue system is available as an option where theboiler position does not permit the use of the top horizontalflue system.The system is made up from accessories. The accessoriesinclude terminal assembly, bends 45º and 87.5º, flueextensions, fixing bracket and appropriate weather collar, seediagram 10.23.The maximum permitted straight flue length is 8 metresplus the terminal. for each 87.5º or 2x45º bends fitted, themaximum length must be reduced by 1 metre, see diagram10.22.NOTE: 2x45º bends can replace 1x87.5º bend if necessary.When using 87.5º bends any horizontal extension pipe shouldbe inclined by a minimum of 44mm/metre (2.5º) towardsthe boiler to facilitate condense removal, see (a) in diagram10.22.Alternatively use 45º bends to avoid horizontal runs, see (b) indiagram 10.22.The terminal siting should be as shown in diagram 4.2.Measure the distance of flue length required for theinstallation.The flue must be designed with a continuous fall towards theboiler.14868Diagram 10.2230
