42 <strong>SBM</strong> <strong>Offshore</strong> <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2008</strong> / <strong>Report</strong> of the Board of ManagementThe seabed supported storage tank for the MOPUstorTMfor the Yme project has been installed offshore Norwayand stands safely on the seabed. The tank was built inMalaysia and has been shipped to the Netherlands on atransportation vessel for installation of the caisson on thetank, before starting offshore works. This allowed the clientTalisman Energy Norge AS to start drilling activities for drytree well head completions. The production platform is underconstruction in Abu Dhabi and scheduled for completionthis summer. Some delays have been encountered with theconstruction of the platform due to the implementation ofmodifications to meet Norwegian regulations. The platformis then planned to be transported to Norway for offshoreinstallation, which consists of jacking it up on its three legson top of the storage tank and connecting the dry treesto the production facilities at deck level. Production isexpected late 2009 for an initial lease period of five years.The MOPUstorTM concept is a patented design of <strong>SBM</strong><strong>Offshore</strong> and was first applied for the development of theSiri field in the Danish sector of the North Sea.Engineering and procurement of equipment for EnCana’sDeep Panuke Production Field Centre is on schedule withthe construction of the MOPU structure still at a very earlyphase. The hull is being constructed in the dry dock of GPCin Abu Dhabi, where integration of the MOPU productionfacilities will also take place. On completion the unit willbe shipped to Canada for offshore installation and firstproduction is scheduled in the fourth quarter of 2010 foran initial eight-year lease with EnCana Corporation.Resulting from the developments within the lease portfoliodescribed above, the Company had at year-end fifteenowned or part-owned units on charter, one unit laid upwith a further three units under construction for start ofoperation in the course of 2009 and 2010. In addition, theCompany currently performs offshore operations for twoclient owned facilities (Exxon Mobil’s FPSO Serpentina inEquatorial Guinea and Total’s FSO Unity in Nigeria), withoperate only contracts in hand for two further units still underconstruction/completion and not yet in production (FPSOFrade for Chevron and FPSO P-57 for Petrobras).Oil storage operations in MyanmarIn 1997, a <strong>SBM</strong> <strong>Offshore</strong> Company signed a contract tooperate a FSO offshore Myanmar at the Yetagun field.Operations commenced in 2000 and will terminate in2015.This contract took effect prior to the campaign ofinternational appeals for sanctions against the Myanmarregime. <strong>SBM</strong> <strong>Offshore</strong> has previously explained that theCompany cannot cancel a signed contractual commitment.Repeated efforts to sell the contract have been made andThe storage tank of the MOPUstor for Yme ready for offshore installation in Norway
