As part of our Global Community Involvement Month inSeptember, Dell El Salvador employees donated food,supplies, and toys, and painted walls and decorated thedormitories for Hogar Sustituto San Jose Villanueva orphanage.The orphanage provides education, shelter and daycareto children whose mothers are working in crops nearby or asmaids in urban areas.Dell employees returned to the orphanage in December andbrought donations of toys and food for 200 children. InJanuary, Dell employees donated $600 worth of schoolsupplies for 80 children at the orphanage.HIV/AIDS PreventionAs part of Dell's commitment to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS,Dell supported a number of HIV/AIDS services organizationsaround the world in communities where Dell has a presence.The following information provides an outline of our support.El Salvador's Fundacion InocenciaIn El Salvador, Dell supported Fundacion Inocencia (InnocenceFoundation) with a Dell Foundation grant. Fundacion Inocenciais a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the wellbeingand dignity of children and families affected by HIV/AIDSin El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. Fundacion Inocenciaand the National Children's Hospital Benjamin Bloom in SanSalvador joined together to form The Center for OutstandingCare of HIV Affected Children (CENID), an alliance that capitalizeson the organizations' services, including education, prevention,treatment and medical research for HIV/AIDS. The CENIDorganization is the only institution solely dedicated to HIV/AIDSservices for children and families in these regions. Focusing onthose with limited resources, Fundacion Inocencia collaborateswith other service organizations such as Hogar Providencia—anorphanage for abandoned children affected by HIV/AIDS. Dell'spartnership allows the alliance to continue their treatment andDell supports PROBIDSIDA in Panama, providing funding forthe organization's Techno-Education Center. The center isequipped with Dell systems and provides accessibility to thelatest information for patients, the medical community,international agencies and school children.education programs and provide transportation, food, medicine,recreation, and education/awareness campaigns for itspatients. Dell volunteers committed to the program help CENIDconduct community workshops, fairs and presentations, spendinga total of 100 hours per month helping the organization.Panama PROBIDSIDADell has committed to provide a grant to PROBIDSIDA inPanama, which provides funding for the organization's Techno-Education Center for Children and Their Families with HIV/AIDSprogram. The program is dedicated to promoting the well-beingand dignity of people affected by HIV/AIDS by providing legalaid, community integration and counseling, education, prevention,and treatment. The Techno-Education Center program isan alliance between PROBIDSIDA and the Children's Hospitalof Panama, which brings together HIV/AIDS prevention educationwith treatment and medical research for the benefit ofPanama's children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. The center,furnished and equipped with Dell systems, focuses on educationand prevention by providing access to important informationfor the general public and those at risk, especially children,infected and expectant mothers, and their families. A safe andpermanent techno-education center provides accessibility tothe latest information for patients, the medical community,international agencies and school children.
